I worded this way too strongly in the original post. This is speculation. As mentioned in the post, source was from WSJ contributer Bradley Hope, Clara Preve from the Whale Hunting newsletter. The "$60 billion" figure is a mathematical projection based on holding the initial ~$2.7 billion stake during 2018–2019, when Bitcoin traded between $3,000 and $10,000. through Bitcoin's appreciation to prices above $100,000 in the current cycle. The number is unknown as Venezuela has been actively avoiding sanctions and this is unable to be confirmed through chain analysis. However, there's a possibility that the number can go as high as this figure.
